Da quando ho eseguito l'aggiornamento (nuova installazione) a Trusty (Kubuntu – EDIT e ora Ubuntu vanilla, sono tornato a risolvere ulteriormente questo problema ) Ho notato problemi di rete.
Esattamente ogni due minuti la mia rete va in crash per un momento, ma poi torna presto online. Questo si riflette chiaramente nel syslog:

Questo è così frustrante. Non posso essere sempre su cat5. Come ho detto prima, questo non è mai successo il 13.10. Non voglio davvero fare il downgrade. C'è un modo per utilizzare i driver Wi-Fi dal 13.10?

Oops, questo accade dal 2009 e uno sviluppatore ha risposto che è semplicemente per il roaming in ambienti aziendali con più punti di accesso a cui connettersi. Se hai solo un AP a casa, vai in Network Manager, seleziona "Modifica connessione", evidenzia il tuo AP / wlan0 e fai clic su "Modifica". Quindi fare clic sulla freccia giù accanto a BSSID che è vuota. Quindi seleziona l'indirizzo mac che prima era nascosto.
Mi scuso per aver collegato questo a un problema 802.11n. Una volta morso due volte timido immagino...
Ho eseguito questi passaggi e sia la scansione che le righe di errore hanno smesso di essere registrate. Non posso ancora dire se ha reso la mia connessione più stabile, ma cercherò di ricordarmi di aggiornare questa risposta tra un giorno o due.
Sono tornato 3 settimane dopo (avevo perso la scheda aperta, oops) e penso che abbia aiutato. Ottengo ancora gli strani cali di connessione, ma non sembrano così comuni come li ricordo quando ho trovato questa domanda per la prima volta.
