Che ne dici di usare:
mkfile -n 1m test.tmp
Non è lo stesso comando ma ha lo stesso scopo.
Nota che fallocate
utilizza moltiplicatori decimali, mentre mkfile
utilizza moltiplicatori binari.

Per coloro che desiderano creare file di dati falsi per i test, mkfile
è piuttosto elegante. Un'alternativa è usare dd
:
dd if=/dev/zero of=zfile count=1024 bs=1024
Come puoi vedere con od -b zfile
, è pieno di zeri. Se vuoi dati casuali (che potresti volere per testare i flussi di lavoro con la compressione dei dati, ad esempio), usa "/dev/random" al posto di "/dev/zero":
dd if=/dev/random of=randfile count=1024 bs=1024
fallocate()
non esiste su OSX. Puoi "fingere" però; Mozilla lo finge nella loro classe FileUtils. Guarda questo file:
