produrrà il codice e il --build=TYPE opzione per selezionare il tipo di
sistema su cui si sta compilando il pacchetto.

Da quello che ho appreso sul tuo sistema dalla tua domanda, non è necessario eseguire il crossbuild, quindi un semplice ./configure nella directory di livello superiore potrebbe effettivamente fare il trucco (o produrre nuovi errori, fallisce con Invalid configuration 'amd64-unknown-freebsd8.2': machine 'amd64-unknown' not recognized qui... portatile? sembra di no).

Modifica: Come hai notato, il progetto sembra piuttosto marcio. Potresti provare a cercare un'alternativa. Se il tuo problema è "convertire un file di testo normale in un documento PDF", alcuni moduli Perl per la creazione di PDF potrebbero essere una strada da percorrere, poiché Perl è adatto per l'elaborazione di testo normale. (E ci sono (La)TeX e ConTeXt, ovviamente.)
