Perché Ctrl + Freccia sinistra non salta le parole?

Sono sul mio Ubuntu 12.04. Ogni volta che modifico del testo, utilizzo ctrl + sinistra /destra per spostarsi/saltare tra le parole. Di recente, ho installato xscreensaver e modificato le scorciatoie da tastiera per attivare il mio screensaver. Ma poi, Ctrl + sinistra ha smesso di rispondere normalmente (passa alla parola successiva a sinistra). Ctrl + destra salta ancora alla parola successiva a destra. Il problema si verifica se sto usando il terminale, Gedit o anche se sto digitando del testo nelle pagine web.

Sono tornato a gnome-screensaver, rimosso xscreensaver (anche corretto le mie scorciatoie da tastiera). Ma il problema rimane.

Ho provato a copiare i contenuti da /etc/inputrc a ~/.inputrc (per impostazione predefinita, non ho ~/.inputrc). Ho alcune informazioni qui:strani caratteri che appaiono quando utilizzo i tasti Ctrl e Freccia per navigare

se rimuovo /etc/inputrc, ecco cosa ottengo se tengo premuto CTRL quindi premo la freccia destra cinque volte:

A differenza della prima immagine sopra, tenendo premuto CTRL e premendo più di una volta la freccia sinistra non verrà stampato ;5D di nuovo... è come se accettasse il comando una volta e non lo facesse più .. vedi immagine sotto:

1 – In ~/.zshrc

bindkey '^[[1;5D' backward-word
bindkey '^[[1;5C' forward-word

2 – O in ~/.bashrc

bind '"e[1;5D" backward-word' 
bind '"e[1;5C" forward-word'

… E ora ctrl + sinistra / destra salta le parole in byobu / tmux.

3 – Non scherzare con inputrc .
